Pager has arrived....

My pager has arrived.

The courier guy just dropped it off as Maddy went psycho and barked the entire time at him.

It's soooooo surreal...everything is happening so fast it seems.

It said it was already activated sooooooooo.......I guess i should bring it to rehab with me??

Sooooooooo weird! Is it just me or is everything happening so fast these last 2 weeks? I'm totally not complaining though; i'm finally getting on with my life!

I go to TO on Tues to sign the forms and officially get listed!!!

AHHH!!

Hey You Beautiful Girlie!!!

I remember getting my pager -- it made things seems so... So real... And I guess surreal as well...

Yes -- bring it to rehab with you... Learn to have it everywhere with you... It was on my nightstand while I slept... On my little sickie-table when I was not in the bedroom... On the toilet when I took a shower... There was a notecard with large letters saying BEEPER posted at eye level next to the door reminding me to take it with me, everywhere...

My princess changed the batteries every month... Probably overkill, but the situation was more than vaguely important... We had an older beeper that took a AAA battery... My thought is that beepers/pagers tend to be better than the cell phones many are relying on now -- my understanding is that the range on a pager is better and more consistent...

And I waited longer than you will wait -- I called it now and then to see if the effing thing was working... (I wasn't always convinced it was...)

And -- ours were provided by a service associated with the hospital, but funded by a philanthropic organization... It had a hospital phone number... A few times I got pages that really had nothing to do with me or my "call" and that can really get the adrenalin flowing!!!

It does seem to be moving quickly -- but we both know that this is one of those "hurry up then wait" situations... Hopefully, when it slows down it won't be insufferably slow...

You take care, buckaroo -- I'm thinking about you, and I'm proud of you... Looking forward to hearing about the "official" listing event on Tuesday...

Love,

Steve
